Sprightly turns time into something you can see — a red wedge that drains as time passes. No distracting numbers. No squinting at a corner clock. Just the honest shape of time running out.
Sprightly has exactly the UI you need and nothing more. Set a time, watch it go, hear it when it's done.

Why Sprightly
Built for the way time actually works.
01
Time you can read without thinking
The shrinking red wedge communicates urgency the way a number never can. Across a room, mid-presentation, on a second monitor — you know exactly where you stand at a glance.
Visual · Peripheral
02
AUTO mode keeps sessions flowing
Turn on AUTO and the next preset starts automatically when the current one ends. Ideal for sprint workshops, pomodoro sequences, and back-to-back facilitation blocks — no fumbling between rounds.
Workflow · Automation
03
Set time your way
Tap a preset (5, 8, 10, 15, or 25 min — all customizable). Drag the disc. Drag the time readout. Or spin any amount up to 119 minutes. The app gets out of the way and lets you work.
Flexible · Precise
04
Always-on-top, pin & forget
Float Sprightly above Figma, Keynote, Zoom — wherever your work lives. A single pin icon locks it in front. The compact window stays out of the way while keeping time visible.

Made for
Every session that needs a clock.
Sprightly earns its place anywhere time-boxing matters — whether you're running a room or just running against the clock.
Design Sprints
Run every sprint exercise with visible time pressure. The shrinking disc creates natural urgency — no one needs to be told when time is almost up.
Workshops & Facilitation
Pin it above your slides. The room sees the clock without you having to narrate it. Discussions end naturally when the red disappears.
Pomodoro & Deep Work
A 25-minute preset and AUTO mode make Pomodoro sequences effortless. No app-switching, no clicking — just start and work.
Presentations & Talks
Label the current segment, float it in the corner of your stage view, and always know where you are — without a clock on your wrist.
Standups & Meetings
Keep timeboxed agendas honest. When the disc is gone, the item is done. Simple accountability without awkward interruptions.
Study & Review Sessions
Block time for reading, writing, or reviewing. The visual feedback keeps you anchored to the work instead of checking the clock.
Keyboard-native
Run it without the mouse.
Every control has a shortcut. Start a session, pause, reset, and pin — all from the keyboard.

FAQ
Questions.
Sprightly is a macOS visual countdown timer. Instead of showing digits counting down, it shows a red disc that shrinks — making the passing of time visceral and readable at a glance. It's designed to help individuals and facilitators stay on schedule without constantly watching a clock.
Sprightly requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later. It runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. No Rosetta required on M1/M2/M3/M4 machines.
Three ways: tap one of the five preset buttons (customizable to any minute value), drag the red disc clockwise to set a time up to 119 minutes, or drag the time readout up/down to scrub through values. The disc snaps to whole minutes as you drag.
AUTO mode automatically starts the next timer session as soon as the current one ends. When it's on, you can move through a sequence of preset blocks — like five Pomodoro rounds — without touching the app between them. Toggle it with the AUTO button or press A.
Yes. Right-click any preset button to rename it to a different duration. Your custom presets are saved between sessions. The defaults are 5, 8, 10, 15, and 25 minutes.
Three alert modes: silent, a single soft chime, or four chimes (like a classic visual timer). Cycle between them using the bell button in the app or the Timer menu. Your preference is remembered.
Yes. With always-on-top mode enabled (⌘T), Sprightly floats above all windows on whatever display you place it on. Move it to a second monitor or corner of your presentation display and it stays put while you work in other apps.
Sprightly is completely free. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no account required. Download it, use it, keep it.
